Meet Dr. Bunyak

Dr. Bunyak has dedicated her professional life to practicing leading-edge, non-surgical musculoskeletetal medicine. She has lectured throughout North County on arthritis, women’s sports injuries, and osteoporosis. She has a particular interest in regenerative and natural approaches to healing. She enjoys working with seniors, pregnant and post-partum women, and athletes and non-athletes of all ages interested in a comprehensive approach to their acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries.

Dr. Bunyak is quadruple board certified:

Dr. Bunyak completed her undergraduate studies at Yale University and received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. During her time at Penn she took a year-long sabbatical to conduct research at the National Institutes of Health as an HHMI/NIH Research Scholar.

Following medical school, Dr. Bunyak completed her internship and residency at Northwestern University and the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, with a special focus in women’s musculoskeletal health.

She followed this with a fellowship in non-operative interventional pain and spinal procedures and became the Director of the Sports and Spine Program and Chief of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department at Kaiser Permanente in Fremont, CA.

Dr. Bunyak has been a Cardiff resident and an Encinitas physician since 2004. Dr. Bunyak is the mother of two redheads and the wife of another; she is a painter, a martial artist, and an avid reader.
