This April, the City of Carlsbad will host a month-long series of events thematically tied to the annual Carlsbad Reads Together. This year’s book selection is Diane Ackerman’s The Human Age: The World Shaped by Us. On April 9, Dr. Bunyak will give the month’s kick-off talk by reviewing recent developments in regenerative medicine and connecting them to the book’s exploration of how humans increasingly have vast control over the landscape, the animal world, natural systems, and even the power of the cells of their own bodies. She’ll speak from 7-8 p.m. at the Georgina Cole branch of the Carlsbad Library.
