The recent Mayo Clinic PM&R Update notes regenerative medicine research is “finding new ways to regrow bone, cartilage, ligament and other musculoskeletal tissue. … Stem cells may also be of value.” A November supplement to the American Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation will focus on regenerative rehabilitation medicine, including articles on stem cells for disk regeneration and platelet-rich plasma injection in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis.
